Types Of Family Mediation

Family mediation is a process that helps resolve conflicts between family members. It can help to resolve issues such as: communication, parenting, finances, and custody. Family mediation is often used when other forms of conflict resolution have failed. There are several types of family mediation, which include: collaborative mediation, facilitated communication, and neutral mediator.

The process of family mediation  typically begins with both parties. The mediator works with the both parties to create a plan for resolving the conflict.

The mediator may also provide training on how to participate in the mediation process effectively. The parties will often meet with the mediator individually or together as a group. During these meetings, the parties will discuss their goals for resolving the conflict and develop a plan of action.

If the parties are unable to resolve the conflict through negotiations or discussions with the mediator, Family Court may be called into action. Family Court is an adversarial system where two families argue about who should have custody of their children or who should receive financial support from them. In order for Family Court to consider a case involving family mediation, both parents must agree to participate in the process and must believe that it is an appropriate option for resolving their dispute.

Although family mediation is not always successful in achieving resolution of conflicts between family members, it can be an effective way to start solving problems before they become more difficult to solve.
